In the pursuit of economic development, there are few quick fixes. But Flagler County’s Department of Economic Opportunity did the next best thing.

Looking to engage a younger demographic — and market the county’s efforts to expand its trained workforce and attract new business development — the county agency recently held an Instagram photo contest.

Flagler County, Fla., July 13, 2016 – On July 11, Florida Hospital Flagler broke ground on a $4.5 million construction project to expand its Cancer Center by 2,000 square feet and add a second linear accelerator for radiation oncology treatments.
The expansion will add a second treatment machine called a True Beam™ Radiotherapy System by Varian. Florida Hospital Flagler will be the only facility in Flagler, Volusia and St. Johns counties with this advanced True Beam technology.
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Flagler County Business – July 7, 2016 – PRLog — Walmart’s fourth annual U.S. Manufacturing Summit was held on Tuesday, June 28 in Bentonville, Arkansas. Eight hundred companies were selected or consideration to stock Walmart shelves and Walmart.com with American-made products. Respigard, made by Nature’s Nurse International, Inc. a Flagler County Florida business was among the finalists at the summit. FlaglerBeach native Dr. Ted Anders, CEO, attended the summit with co-founder and VP Resina Koroi.

In 2013, Walmart pledged to buy $250 billion in made in the USA products by the year 2023. The
suppliers, industry leaders, experts and innovators were all in for a surprise when the company announced
that the conference attendees’ products have been secretly pre-approved by the Walmart Chief Marketing
Officer’s team to be put on Walmart’s website.
