A reliable skilled workforce is critical for expanding or relocating businesses. Currently, there are 19,257 skilled qualified manufacturing professionals within the local MSA. This allows your company to draw from an experienced workforce as well as recent graduated from local technical colleges and programs such as Flagler Technical Institute (FTI) and Daytona State College (DSC) which both offer manufacturing certification programs.
Flagler County offers a number of incentive programs designed to provide customized workforce assistance and training to include On-the-Job Training Cash Reimbursement and Employee Recruitment Services through CareerSource Flagler/Volusia. Additionally, DSC staff can create a customized course curriculum to fit your company’s requirements.
Reporting solid growth, Sea Ray Boats was able to expand its staff from 400 employees to 675, and increase the number of boat models being produced at the Palm Coast plant from 12 to 17 within two years. This increase in production was the motivator for another manufacturing company, Gioia Sails, producer of canvas products for Sea Ray Boats to move production to Flagler County.
