A reliable, skilled workforce is critical for expanding or relocating your business. CareerSource Flagler/Volusia conducted an employment database search of the immediate area and learned there are hundreds of regional jobseekers currently online with CareerSource with the applicable skills life science and medial businesses are looking for. Additionally, Flagler County’s average annual salary and the Northeast Florida target sector average wage are extremely competitive.
Flagler County boasts an excellent technical employee training program. For example, the Daytona State College offers certificates and degrees in a number of medical, environmental and marine research programs. Additionally, the college staff can create a customized course curriculum to fit your company’s requirements.
Flagler County Schools is an active partner in ensuring the future of workforce availability by instituting industry specific academies in each of the five elementary, two middle and two county high schools.
Rymfire Elementary Flagship medical Lab, “Locos Medica”, opened in 2015 with Florida Hospital Flagler donating nearly $7,000 worth of medical equipment including anatomy models, stethoscopes, adult and infant rescue mannequins, a microscope, stretcher and exam table. The hospital continues its engagement of the Medical/Health & Fitness Flagship school by providing guest speakers and student shadowing opportunities to help students connect what they learn in classroom and medical lab to future careers.
